Head, Unseen Photo Fair and Festival, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, 18 – 20 September 2015Peter Puklus’ campaign visualises various interpretations of a sculpted self-portrait. In creating the sculpture, Puklus reinterpreted the only remaining photograph of a sculpture by Hungarian avant-garde artist Joseph Csaky (Head, 1913), which was either lost or destroyed. The artist photographed the sculpture in various contexts, superimposing different colour-palettes onto the scene, resulting in a series of photographs. These images – only three of which are pictured above – do not depict a final state; they are part of a process, a performance. Related content: |
